چکیده

Vegetation coverage is very important in terrestrial ecosystems and climate systems. However, the observational record of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), which started 1980s when satellites became widely used, too short to investigate history variation beyond modern observation period. Here, we present a 189 y series based on total 349 Mongolian pine (Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica Litv) cores from seven locations central–western Da Hinggan Mountains (CW–DHM), northeastern China. We found significant relationship between tree-ring width regional cumulative (CNDVI). The correlation ring-width chronology June–July CNDVI (CNDVIJJ) was significant, with r = 0.68 (n 32, p < 0.001) an explained variance 45.8% (44.0% after adjustment for loss degree freedom). On this basis, designed transfer function reconstruct CNDVIJJ CW–DHM region 1825 2013 CE (Common Era). During last years, there were 28 years high values, another low values. also observed fluctuations at inter-annual decadal time scales, including eight value periods nine periods. Based our analysis, associated climatic factors, such as temperature, precipitation Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI), combines both temperature precipitation. From 1950 2002 CE, showed noticeable decreasing trend region, whereas 2003 exhibited apparent increase, has been southern Central Siberia, eastern Mongolia China, indicating that change related local some parts Asia.

Climate-related vegetation characteristics derived from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) leaf area index and normalized difference vegetation index

[1] MODIS-based leaf area index (LAI) and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) are used to examine detailed information regarding actual growing season and total annual production for various regions. Overall, MODIS LAI has larger variability and demonstrates more information regarding the evolution and structure of the seasonal vegetation characteristics. In contrast, the NDVI saturat...

Mapping and Attributing Normalized Difference Vegetation Index Trends for Nepal

Global change affects vegetation cover and processes through multiple pathways. Long 1 time series of surface land surface properties derived from satellite remote sensing give unique 2 abilities to observe these changes, particularly in areas with complex topography and limited research 3 infrastructure. Here, we focus on Nepal, a biodiversity hotspot where vegetation productivity is 4 limited...

Interannual variations of monthly and seasonal normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) in China from 1982 to 1999

[1] In this paper, we analyzed interannual variations of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and their relationships with climatic variables (temperature and precipitation) and human activity in China between 1982 and 1999. Monthly and seasonal NDVI increased significantly at both the country and biome scales over the study period. NDVI shows the largest increase (14.4% during the 18 ...
